Long Description of Sighting Report

My girlfriend Michelle and I where leaving the house @ about 6:05 am to take her to work. As we walked towards her car, I pointed toward Orion' Belt, south, given that it was a nice clear morning, the sun was making its way up the mountain so you could still make out constilations but the sky was just turnig light blue, there was a lightning clouds south of us an over the horizon, I thought it would be great to tell her something I had just learned when, I saw someting that looked like a star underneath the costalation. The star was south of us but appears to be heading north. I that point I told Michelle "Look at that its moving fast" and as we look at it, It travel south to north east in about 10-15 seconds. As it traveled over our heads and suddenly it seemed, as a beacon would do, to shine on us. Like someone pointing a flashlight at you from far away. At that point Michelle jumped a bit in fright, I knew at that point without doubt we both had seen the same thing. As it passed, I was going throught a check list in my head; Its way to high to be helicopter plus all I could hear was a slight and high hissing sound, no chopper does that; A plane or jet?., We are near the Ontario airport, but it had no other blinking light (red or amber). If it was flying at normal hight, I would be able to hear it. If it was flying higher than usual ,jet or plane, it would appear to be traveling slower. It was traveling at such high rate of speed that that it took seconds to cross the sky in a stright line. To my knowlage, the higher the jet, the slower it appears to travel. Then I thought it could be a commet/meteor. (which I have seen) It was not traveling that fast, it had no tail, and commets/meteors do not shine a light on you. It disapered going north east into the sky. We are still in awe of what we saw. Thank you for your time.
